ING Bank CR announces Net Profit result of CZK 238 Million in 2008

ING Bank Czech Republic realized a net profit of CZK 238 million in 2008. Taking into account CZK 200 million of yearly revaluations of our bond portfolios, the net profit would have increased by 86%, which is a very positive result in these difficult times. During this year, ING Bank plans to continue it’s current strategy of building long-term sustainable position in the Czech market and is ready to provide financial solutions not only to current but also to new corporate and institutional clients.

The number of ING ČR customers grew almost by 150 000 last year

In 2008, retail part of ING has seen considerable growth despite difficult economic conditions. In most principal indicators – number of policies, premium written and also in assets under management – the company has seen growth. Especially the number of clients grew considerably and also assets under management of ING Konto more than doubled.

ING to end F1 sponsoring programme after 2009 season

In light of the recently announced cost reduction programme, ING confirmed today not to renew the three year sponsorship (2007-2009) contract with Renault F1 and to end its presence in F1 beyond the 2009 season.

Karolína Staňková - New Chief Operations Officer at ING Wholesale Banking ČR

The new elected Chairman of the Nederlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is Rolf-Jan Zweep, CEO ING Bank ČR and General Manager Wholesale Banking. He replaces Dirk Kroonen, COO/CFO Ernst & Young for Central and South-East Europe, who left the position due too many commitments.

ING Wholesale Banking opens another regional office in Brno

ING Wholesale Banking opened a new regional office in June. After Ostrava it is the second regional office aiming to be close to clients in the Southern Moravia Region. The office will be served by two experienced Relationship Managers. During a press conference held in Brno on 25 September ING Wholesale Banking presented its plans for the Southern Moravia Region. At the same time it announced a loan of €79 million (CZK 1.87 billion) to developer CTP Invest to finance several projects in the Czech Republic.

Garant Invest life policy breaks all records: clients have invested CZK 2.3 billion in it over four months

The third tranche of ING’s Garant Invest unit-linked life assurance policies is being planned for release in September. In the previous two tranches (which together lasted only 16 weeks), ING’s clients invested an unbelievable CZK 2.3 billion in these life policies. This is several times more than the known results achieved by competitors. Garant Invest has exceeded the average known sales rate per tranche by 600%.

Midyear economic results: ING Retail business grows by 34% serving more than one million clients

Retail part of ING (comprising life insurance, pension fund, savings account, mutual funds and health insurance) has seen growth in majority of main economic indicators in the first half of 2008. In comparison with the same period in 2007 ING Retail results show the most marked increase in assets under management by 34 percent and in clients by 17 percent; also the interest in ING services is ever growing.

Meal vouchers and insurance still the most popular benefits

The results of a survey of employee benefits, organised by ING, have again brought benefits from the insurance industry to the forefront of interest. These were placed second in the chart of popularity amongst employees and also as the second most frequent benefit provided by employers. Pension fund schemes are currently offered by 78% of the respondent companies to their employees.

ING Penzijní fond records the second highest growth in value on the market over the past three years

ING Penzijní fond will credit a growth in value of 2.5% to scheme members for last year. This figure implies a slight decrease; in spite of that, ING PF remains one of the best growing pension funds on the market over the long term. Over the past three years, i.e. from 2005 to 2007, ING Penzijní fond has recorded the second highest growth in value for scheme members on the market.

ING Bank CR continues its success in Northern Moravia

Two year ago, ING Wholesale Banking opened its representative office in Ostrava in the Moravia-Silesia region. At the beginning of 2008 ING Lease also started the operation in this region. On the occasion of the second year anniversary, an informal lunch with the media was held, which was attended by Rolf-Jan Zweep, CEO ING Bank CR and General Manager Wholesale Banking; Vojtěch Benda, Senior Economist ING Wholesale Banking; and ING Lease representatives. Topics of the discussion were the strategy of ING Wholesale Banking, the macroeconomic outlook for the Northern Moravia region and broadening the client’s base of ING Wholesale Banking in 2008.

ING Penzijní fond introduces a loyalty credit card

ING Penzijní fond and GE Money Multiservis have prepared a loyalty credit card for the customers of ING Penzijní fond, thanks to which the users will save up for their pensions with every payment made using the card. The bonus credited to the client’s pension insurance account following each card payment is 1 percent from the value of the purchase. Thanks to such a high bonus the ING Penzijní fond loyalty credit card is the best product in its class. In addition to the state contribution, tax reductions, and employer contribution, the loyalty card is another source of pension savings for ING PF clients.
