F1 Sponsorship
ING has been the main partner of the ING Renault F1 team since 2007. Through this global sponsoring initiative the ING aims to strengthen the public’s knowledge about its activities in the banking sector, insurances, supplementary pension insurances and asset management.
The ING Renault F1 team has been participating under its new name in the World Championship races series since January 2007. The ING logo is placed not only on the Formula 1 racing cars, but also on the suits of both the drivers – Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet Jr. – and on the clothes of the entire support team.
F1 races are annually viewed by more then 850 million people of all age groups, which places Formula 1 amongst the most watched TV sports. Sponsoring the ING Renault F1 team helps to widen the global awareness of the ING brand among its 60 million existing customers as well as among tens of millions of others. This sponsorship strengthens ING’s position on the key markets on which it is already operating, and at the same time it assists in reaching new markets.
Other ING sponsoring activities connected to Formula 1

It also sponsors the ING Australian Grand Prix and the ING Belgium Grand Prix.
ING as sponsor of sports events on a local level
Sports sponsorship is nothing new for ING. On a local level, ING sponsors a variety of sports activities – marathons, football, and water polo. With the exception of the New York marathon, all these sponsorship activities generate the attention of local media. The Formula 1 sponsorship draws global attention of media and viewers to the activities of the ING Company.
